Awards

APLA awards two prizes annually: a student paper prize and a book prize, both of which are awarded at the American Anthropological Association meeting. The student prize includes a cash prize of $350.00, plus travel expenses of up to $650.00 if the prize winner attends the annual meetings. The book prize carries an award of $1,000. The winning book is reviewed in PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review and may be featured at a roundtable or author-meets-readers session at the AAA meeting. Honorable mentions may be identified by the committees, if appropriate.
