APLA Book Prize Winners!

The Association for Political and Legal Anthropology (APLA) is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Book Prize! After months of work, the APLA Book Prize committee has selected two books for recognition and would like to extend congratulations to both authors. Join us to celebrate these remarkable books, and for a roundtable discussion with the authors at the APLA Business Meeting on Friday, November 22nd from 12:15pm – 1:45 pm in the Vancouver Convention Center WEST, Room 118.

This year’s APLA Book Prize Award goes to Susan Helen Ellison (Wellesley College) for her book Domesticating Democracy: The Politics of Conflict Resolution in Bolivia (Duke University Press, 2018).

 

Living Emergeny.jpgHonorable mention goes to Yael Berda (Hebrew University) for Living Emergency: Israel’s Permit Regime in the Occupied West Bank (Stanford University Press, 2017).
